What is a Youth Hub?

A Youth Hub is a place where people aged 16 to 24 can get free help with finding work. Some are run by councils, some by charities, and some with the Jobcentre. Whoever runs them, the help is free and it's there for you.

Youth Hub staff can help you look for jobs, build your CV, fill in applications and get ready for interviews. Many can also help you find training courses and apprenticeships. Some can help with other things too, like money, finding somewhere to live, or just having someone to talk to. Every Youth Hub's page on this site lists what that hub can offer you.

Most Youth Hubs are in ordinary places like libraries, community centres and town centre buildings. They're relaxed. You won't be interviewed at the door, you can dress normally, and you don't need any work experience to go.

Most hubs ask you to book first, and a few let you just drop in during opening hours. Your hub's page on this site tells you which, so you'll know before you head out. If you're not sure whether a hub is right for you, get in touch and ask. The worst that can happen is they point you somewhere better.
